A BIT OF my business HISTORY: JESKEhomes has been a residential general contracting firm since 1981. The 1980's we were in Newport Beach Ca. building many very custom homes for the owners. Many were designed by me. (Ray Jeske). The balance were by several different Architects in that area. On the December 31, 1989, I closed JESKEhomes Inc. and my wife and I moved to Mariposa Ca. to build our "retirement home" (after Ray's barn was built). Our daughter's husband worked for the framing subcontractor I used in NPB and also was a licensed general contractor. While he assisted me in the above construction, they became so interested in living in Mariposa that they moved up from Costa Mesa. In 1991, I restarted JESKEhomes in Mariposa and he and I worked together building custom homes for clients here in the Mariposa & Madera foothill areas. I did the design and contracting and he the building. At the end of 1999, I retired from the contracting, but am continuing the computer assisted drawing (CAD) of homes for clients. I am also now designing for several different contractors in the area. By comparison to NPB, the mountain/country/ranch/retirement homes here are smaller and more conservative, but more advanced in design and performance. (By the way, my son-in-laws co. name is now L.G.A. CONSTRUCTION) I am a member of the Mariposa County contractors Association, the ICBO (generates the building codes), and the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce. I attend various seminars by the ICBO to remain aware of all the latest information relative to code requirements and the latest building concepts and materials. The individual pieces of property can usually be best utilized by fitting the home that you really want to it.. not taking a standard or existing design and forcing it or carving the property at extra expense.
